22/9/18 - D1 - Clinches Lead in Fourth Inning to Defeat Tigers

D1 nabbed the lead late in the game in a 10-6 victory over Tigers on Saturday. The game was tied at five with D1 batting in the bottom of the fourth when Christian Caceres singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

D1 earned the victory despite allowing Tigers to score five runs in the fourth inning. Tigers's big inning was driven by singles by Stephen Earnshaw and Christopher Prestipino and an error on a ball put in play by Jayden Young.

D1 pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Josh Sullivan singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Greg Chavez singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Adam Goodrich singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Sullivan toed the rubber for D1. They surrendered six runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out nine and walking zero.

D1 had ten hits in the game. Goodrich and Sullivan each collected multiple hits for D1. Sullivan and Goodrich each managed two hits to lead D1

22/9/18 - D2 - Can't catch up to Concord

D2 fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 22-9 loss to Concord on Saturday. Concord scored on a single by Nick Vitale, a single by Ben Ryan, a groundout by David Livian, and a single by Mark King in the first inning.

Despite the loss, D2 did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Concord had 16 hits on the way to victory.

D2 tallied three runs in the fifth inning. David Marven, Nick Franke, and Andrew Blunden powered the big inning with RBIs.

Franke was on the hill for D2. They went three innings, allowing 12 runs on 11 hits and striking out three. Andrew Collins and Kym Daniel entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

D2 tallied one home run on the day. Collins went deep in the third inning.

D2 tallied ten hits on the day. Nathan Marven, Marven, Collins, and Blunden all managed multiple hits for D2. Blunden, Collins, Marven, and Marven each managed two hits to lead D2. D2 was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Blunden made the most plays with six. D2 stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Marven led the way with two.
